6E Continuous symbol

Hi,

What could cause my chart with a continuous symbol not to update even though a chart with the actual symbol will?

I have a 6E chart continuous that isn't updating but the 6E 06-11 is. I assume I have a setting wrong somewhere but I can't see where (it was working previously). I have deleted and added the continuous back to no avail.

I have obviously done something wrong because I just tried it on the 6J as well and that continuous symbol chart isn't updating either.

Any help will be appreciated.

Are you getting any errors from the Log tab of the Control Center?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I get my data from Velocity Futures (TT). I do have a log entry - MarketData request rejected, unknown instrument (6E ##-##)

Unfortunately, Trading Technologies does not offer continuous contract support. You will need to use the individual front months with this connection.

For continuous contract support, our preferred market data service is Kinetick. Pleaes vist www.kinetick.com for more information

Is TT the only connection you use or have been using?

TT has never supported instruments with the ##-## suffix for real-time data.

Matthew, I have a couple of connections but they are all TT. Could it have something to do with the Merge policy?

I don't remember changing anything and haven't even gone into the Instrument Manager lately but I obviously did something.

You are certain you have received real-time data with 6E ##-## with only using a TT connection?

You might receive historical data on this connection, but it would not be updating in real-time.

The merge polcy would not impact the ##-## contracts, but rather simulates a continuous contract from the current front month into previous months.

Matthew, when I load NT, I have a chart on with the continuous symbol. It stopped updating today at 10:24 Eastern but shows data prior to that.

Refreshing the chart no longer moves the time forward as it normally would if I were getting historical data.

That is what I thought about the merge policy. I try to remember that what I think and what is true are all too often at odds.
