Charts not filling in bars from shut off to power up

    Hi-

I powered off my computer last night with some trades open. I didn't shut down NT7. When I powered on the computer this morning NT7 automatically connected to MB Trading, and updated, however the charts where I had trades didn't update all the bars. It showed a huge gap up or down depending on the movement over the 5 hours the computer was off. Also, the time on the chart that the gap bar posted was the next time frame from when I shut it off, so basically 4 hours off.

Any ideas why and what I should do to prevent this?
    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

Can you please tell me what version of NinjaTrader you currently have installed which can be found under Help-->About.

I look forward to assisting you further with this issue.

Ok, so that helped to reset the chart timing, etc. Thanks. How do I prevent it from happening again?
          Thanks

            Hi sesplin,

Shutting NinjaTrader down via the File > Exit option prior to shutting the PC down should help to prevent this from occurring in the future.

May be a naive question. If I do that will all my trades in progress, stops buy/sell stops still be active? I am with MB trading. Not sure how they work.
              Thanks

I have provided a link below that goes over Where Orders Reside. However while in an active trade we do not suggest disconnecting from your broker. If an execution occurs while disconnected NinjaTrader will not receive the signal that the order is filled and upon startup and connection of NInjaTrader the platform will continue to the order is live.

Note: This information is relevant for NinjaTrader 7 only. For NinjaTrader 8, please click here (https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt8/where_do_your_orders_reside_.htm). CQG Orders in a state "Accepted" or "Working" are at the exchange. If the exchange does not support a specific order type, the

                  hi Christopher

                  re your last post here
is it the situation with all broker feeds that if orders are executed whilst NT is disconnected then NT will not be aware of those executions when reconnected?

Yes this is the case with all brokers. NinjaTrader acts like a radio receiver and when an execution occurs it will then receive a signal from your to let the platform know of the execution and cancel the order.
