Question on DOM bid and ask

    See attached picture.

I am curious why the DOM shows numbers in the bid column above the current price.
    What conditions cause this?

    Thanks,
    Gary

    Hi GaryAlbers,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you please clarify which data provider you are using, and I am curious if you close the SuperDOM and then open a new one with new settings if you see the same behavior with that particular instrument.

      I use zenfire.

I closed the DOM and it was not there immediately but but it came back again after a couple minutes.

Also saw it on a different market DOM for a different market.

I had 5 DOMs open at the time, and it did not happen on all of them.

It does not last forever. A couple times it cleared immediately and some time it stayed for a good long while.

        Hello Gary,

Can you please tell me what NinjaTrader version you have installed. You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About.

Could it be the issue only occurs when you have 5 SuperDOM's opened or did you experience the issue with less SuperDOM windows opened as well?

When did you first started the experience the issue. Did you perhaps make any changes in NinjaTrader when the issue first started to occur?

          I use v7.rc4

I have had more than 5 DOMs open at once before without noticing this.

The only properties I changed on the DOM and saved as default are the number of rows to show and the item where you tell it how to select the ATM (i forget name of it).

I also had the DOM linked to two other charts via the color coded Link option.

I do not get enough screen time to know how often this issue occurs.
This was the only day I have seen it so far.

          My machine is high end.

I take it this is not normal behavior. Since I cannot reproduce this issue at will,
it is enough for me that you have noted the behavior (and will perhaps keep an eyeopen for it).
Perhaps others will see it also (perhaps not).

          Thanks,
          -Gary

            Hi Gary,

With your DOM settings this behavior would not be expected, but based on the other qualifications can you please go to File > Workspaces and then let us know if there are multiple workspaces open, and then also refer to the following performance tips.

I understand your machine is capable but I am curious if the setup within NinjaTrader is resulting in this type of displayed behavior based on the performance demands of the application:

There were 2 other workspaces open at the time,
              one was totally empty
The other was a Market analyzer with 8 lines in it, each set at Tick intervals.

The machine never goes above 5% utilization.

I'll keep these tips in mind as I watch the DOM behavior.
