    Missing data for GC future contract after changing expiry date

    Hi;
    Up until yesterday I was trading the GC-04-11 Gold future contract, I then added the GC-06-11 contract to the list of default instruments.

    When I now choose the contract (GC-06-11) in the chart I have data up until 30/3/2011 3pm, and then a gap starting again from the moment when I open the chart or switch the timeframe on the chart.

    I also had a look in the history for this instruments and it seems to have loaded all data (no gaps like I have on the chart). Any idea what causes this behaviour and more important how I can fix it.

    Not I am in Australia EST time zone and using Interactive Brokers for the datafeed.

    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hello hometradingblog

    Thank you for your post.

    Are you plotting a single data series to the chart or do you have more than one data series in this example?

    What session template do you have on the GC 06-11 chart? You can check this by right-clicking on the chart & selecting ‘Data Series’

    Please also provide a screenshot of this chart.

      Thanks for the quick reply. There is only one dataseries on the chart and I am using the Default 24/7 session template. Screenshot attached.

      Tried closing the chart and starting with a new chart again, didn't make any change.

      Thanks for any help

        Hi,

        In the instrument manager, can you bring up the GC's instrument specifications by opening the Instrument Editor. In the editor, what is the 'Merge policy' set to?

          Hi;
          It is set to MergeBackAdjusted in the global settings. Interestingly enough I just did another Reload Historica Data and seems to have done the trick. Will see what it is like tomorrow
