    Market Replay - Charts will not update

    I am trying to replay a couple of days of TF data (03/07 & 03/08) and I cannot get my charts to update once I hit the play button.
    I have tried to fast forward, delete and recreate the charts, reload the data as well as try on a different computer.
    I am currently running 7.3 but have the same issue on one that has been updated to 7.4.
    It is probably something dumb I am forgetting to do.
    I also have two charts up, one with TF 03-11 (Which should be the correct chart) and one with TF 06-11.
    Neither are updating correctly.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you for your post.

    With the data downloaded you may need to set the time to trading hours, try the following steps.
    • Right click on the Market Replay Controller and select 'Available Data' and expand the instruments to see L1 Begin and L1 End -> Press 'Close'
    • Right click on the Market Replay Controller and select 'Go To' and specify the date and a time within the L1 Begin and L1 End -> Press 'OK' to go to the time specified

      Chip,
      I was trying to replay 10AM.
      I checked the available data when the chart would not update and it looked OK.
      See attached.

        Chip,
        It looks like all I can get Market Replay to function properly with is for the 06-11 instruments.
        For some reason, I cannot get the 03-11 or earlier instruments to work.
        Does not matter that I have the correct instrument date or not assigned.
        Previously, I do not remember having these issues going back to older contracts.
        Would you mind pointing to where I can read up on documentation to replay older time frames?

          Hello Gary,

          My thought here is that you have the expired contract data merged into the 06-11 instrument (virtual continuous contract/data series).

          When you go to Tools > Options > “Data” tab – what do you have selected in Merge Policy?

            Just an additional question for you,

            Have you tried to download replay data for ES prior to the 03-11 expiration? What were your results?

              Chip,
              The merge policy is set to MergeBackAdjusted.

              I have done quite a bit of Replay in the past but that was with previous versions. 6.X and before.

              I do remember that I did have to change this value early on in the beta testing process due to issues with Crude Oil.

              I will change this and re-download the data.
