    BarTimer problem

    Hello,

I have a sync problem with the BarTimer indicator.

I create two new charts with 5 min and 10 min periods. I add BarTime in both of them and it works ok. There is a difference of 5 minutes between two countdowns.

The problem comes when I change the period of the charts. For example, I set the two periods to 120 min and 240 min. There is a difference of 15 minutes between two countdowns (????)

I am working with NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.4, data provided by Zenfire and I have synchronized my PC clock.

    Hello IkerCB,

    Thank you for your post.

If you create a brand new 240/120 chart, do you see the same issue occur there - or is this something which only occurs when you change the instruments of an existing chart?

      Hello Kyle,

      Thanks for your answer.

Same problem. I have created a new workspace and two new charts (240 and 120 min) and the difference between two countdowns is 15 minutes.

        IkerCB,

Can you provide an image of this? I can see no reason why this would occur so would like to see if I can recognize anything visually out of place on the chart.

            IkerCB,

What session templates do the two charts use?

            To check:
Right click in the body of the chart and select 'Data Series'.
Session template will be listed on the right side of the Data Series menu.

The Session Template of the two charts is "CME US Index Futures ETH"

                IkerCB,

If both charts are set to use the 'Default 24/7' session template do you end up with the same result?

No, if I set the two charts to "Default 24/7" there is not difference between the countdowns.

Any idea of why does not work with the other template?

                    IkerCB,

Not sure why this would be quite yet, but we're getting closer.

Please change both charts back to their original session template.

Next, scroll back to the first bar of the day in both charts. Middle mouse click on that bar.

I need to know what date/time is listed for each charts first 4/11 bar.

                      In the 240 min chart:

                      • D: 4/11/2011
                      • T: 04:00

                      In the 120 min chart:

                      • D: 4/11/2011
                      • T: 02:00

                        Hi IkerCB,

Thank you for checking that - based on this, both charts are starting at the same time.

Both charts are using the '<Use Instrument Settings>' template or you've specifically selected the CME template?

                          Hello Kyle,

When I create each chart, in the "Data Series" window I set "Session Template" to "CME US Index Futures ETH".

                            IkerCB,

Can you provide me with a copy of your workspace?
You'll find the file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Workspaces folder.

Yes, I have attached to this post.

I have realised that now BarTimer works ok, and I have not made any change... Just before than the end of the session... (???)
