    IB and ^NYA Index

    Good Afternoon:

I am unable to get the ^NYA index to load on a chart, I get the error "No security definition". Attached are screen shots of the setup, I can get the index up on an IB chart so I have realtime feed, not sure why I can't get a chart on NT7.

    Hi TraderJesse,

    Thank you for your post.

Rather than using the PSE can you please reset your instruments so that NinjaTrader will use the default NYSE exchange and then please let me know if you are able to chart that instrument. To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

        TraderJesse,

Using the reset settings can you please go to Tools > Instrument Manager and then for the NYA index please highlight and hit Edit.

From the Misc tab please input NYA|PSE for Interactive Brokers such that the symbol reflects the screenshot I have attached.

When finished with the editing of the instrument please hit the OK button to close, and then if the instrument is added to a list please remove from the list using '>' button, and then re-add ('<' button) so that the updated changes are included on the instrument within the list.

            ^NYA (NYSE) volume charting

I am able to chart symbol (NYSE) ^NYA with my TDameritrade FEED.

When I use the VOL indicator, the volume is so large that every volume bar looks the same. Is there a way to plot the volume whereas I can see the days when volume is
            relatively light or heavy??

              Hello mystiq68,

              Thank you for your post.

Can you post a screenshot of what you mean exactly? I'm not sure if I fully understand.

I look forward to your reply.
