NT 7.0.1000.4 install on Vista 64bit SP2

    NT 7.0.1000.4 install on Vista 64bit SP2

    I am trying to upgrade my Vista 64 bit SP2 installed NT from 7.0.1000.2 to .4 but the online instructions that I found only referenced Windows 7 and SP1.

    What steps are required for the install?
    Why would we have to uninstall a Service Pack before installing?
    Can the Service Pack be re-installed after installing NT .4 version?

    Hello

    Uninstalling the Windows SP1 is for users running Windows 7 – you can ignore this item.

    The instructions are not specific to Windows 7. You would proceed as normal to install or upgrade the NinjaTrader platform using the NinjaTrader 7 Installation Guide.

    Please let me know if you still require assistance with this item.

      Hello Chip,

      When I try to do the update (from .2 to .4) I get a message that says I have to follow Step 2 of the Ninja Trader 7 Installation Guide.

      The online installation guide shows Step 2 as the Download and Install Ninja Trader (which is what I am trying to do...??)

      The only other reference I found showed Step 2 as the Windows 7 SP1 removal. Since I have Windows Vista (64 bit) SP2, I don't see any instructions on how to properly proceed.

      The setup error message only gives me the option to click on OK, and to resume installation after I have followed the Step 2 Instructions.

      So, I do need help. What are the Installation instructions for Windows Vista (64 bit) with Service Pack 2?

        SOLUTION???

        I gave up and tried re-downloading the version again... AND I discoverd the page: http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration.php

        This page has the DETAILS that are not in the (Easy to find) "Online" Ninja Trader 7 Installation Guide.

        It has STEP 2 with a specific sub part only for Windows 7 SP1. From that page I can skip the Windows 7 stuff and try and proceed with the install..

        So, WHY doesn't the (EASY to find) NT7 Installation Guide have all the details...

        Probably save EVERYBODY lots of issues....

            Chip,

            No need for me to contact support....

            Since I found the instructions (again) at the web address listed above, I have been successful in updating my NT to the .4 version.

            Just frustrated that the (Easy to find) "Online" Installation Guide did not have the same information.

            Working now, so you can close this thread.
