    Kinetick feed down?

    Hi,

    I am unable to Login to Kinetick (live) - get error msg

    Login Failed: Unable to read server IP addresses: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has
    [Login Failed].

    My broker connection to PFG connects OK.

    Have restarted NT several times but no change. It was working OK earlier.

    Ideas or suggestions??

    Hi rt-trader,

    Thank you for your post.

    In testing the Kinetick feed currently I am not receiving any similar issues.

    Can you please reboot your PC and then please re-open NinjaTrader and attempt to connect, and then please let us know if the connection issue persists.

      It is working again now - without needing either another NT shutdown or PC reboot.

        Issues today with Kinetick?

        At least for me extremely slow getting EOD data. Not sure if its actually doing anything, been over 30mins now. Been like this the whole day.

            Happened again.
            Upgraded to .5 and it happened again

            update: clicking abort, it just gets stuck aborting

              It is possible my data folder has reached some limit if there is one, renamed it and its working a bit better.

                Kinetick EOD is working fine at my end. Better try repairing the database (Tools > Options in Data Tab click on Repair database). that has done marvel for me many a times.

                  Hi naxo79,

                  The Kinetick EOD feed is working as expected, and as noted by bukkan you can repair the DB.

                  There should not be a limit to the data you can load, but from with the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > db > cache is a cache that can be modified.

                  However, if you go to File > Workspaces and then close the workspace and then NinjaTrader and then re-open and connect and then open the workspace then this issue should not occur within your installation.

                    Repaired DB and created a new Workspace.
                    Changed symbol mappings for Kinetick for EURSEK to .COMP to get data. And it happened again but this time on another symbol.
                    I have been running lots of backtests on FX and it seems lots of the default mappings for FX pairs are wrong and that could have something to do with it.

                      Hi naxo79,

                      If the symbol mapping is incorrect then I would recommend that you reset your instruments and use the default settings, as the currency pairs will use .FXCM extension to get the particular forex data from the default source. To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

                        Exactly that is at least one problem.
                        With default and resetted instruments dont get 2005 years daily data on eg. EURSEK.

                        For EURDKK I have not yet found a working mapping to get data back to 2002.

                          Hi naxo79,

                          Then if you do not reset the instruments to keep your modified symbol mappings then I would recommend that you uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader without modifying your settings.
                          Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
                          1. Close all running applications.
                          2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
                          3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
                          4. Reboot your machine.
                          5. Once these steps are completed, download NT7 from the link below:

                              I recommended a reinstall of NinjaTrader to avoid resetting your instruments. Aside from the default settings forex instruments can be created for different providers. The .FXCM is from FXCM, .COMP is from TenFore, but then there are individual banks you can select to receive data for, but you would need to configure the instrument. For the EURDKK you can refer to the symbol search and search and choose to receive data from any of the individual forex providers that are not loaded by default:
