Charttrader PnL Calculations

this has been driving me crazy for approx 3 years

if in Charttrader Properties you select "KeepSelected...", then you can hedge to trap profit...see pic 1 with 120 trapped profit

if you move your stops to BE on both positions, then neither position can lose money

however, regardless which PnL calculation method (e.g. Use Last for PnL), when one position is closed/stopped out, Charttrader shows the other position losing money. This is not correct since it is only giving back profit...not losing money,.see pic 2 with 102 loss

the Account tab, on closing the long, shows the 120 profit, however charttrader shows the current position with an entry price at the long exit...and starts showing losses

how can this be set to not do this?

Hello ATI user,

There is only a toggle for this under Tools > Options.

You can check Use Fifo for PositionAvgPrice calculations or uncheck it. If you want pnl to reflect only open positions when you scale out, then you should check this option.

There are only two options here to affect the PnL display. I would try your scenario using both options to see if you are able to get what you want. If you would like to see something different, let us know specifically what you would like to see and we can add as a feature request.
