Setting hotkey to place different text on chart

During trading I place text markers on my chart, e.g. H1, H2, H3, DT, L1, L2, L3, DB etc. to identify signal bars, speciifically for review afterwards.

Is it possible to automate the process? Can I set ctrl + alt + F2 to place the text H1 above a bar, and ctrl + alt + F3 to place L1?

Sorry if this has been asked already, it didn't show up in a search.

    Hi adamus,

You can attach hotkeys to drawing objects, but not at specific points. They're shortcuts intended for manual drawing.

You can programatically draw text over a signal bar though:

Sure, I'm not fussed about that bit actually, if that's what it sounded like.

I would like to have the ability to hotkey and then click into place a text box with text already in it, and without the edit dialog popping up.

If I wrote a piece of ninjascript, could I attach it to a hotkey somehow in the hotkeys manager?

Unfortunately, there's no way to attach NinjaScript to a hotkey. What you want to do should be possible with custom programming, but outside our scope of support. You check within your script for keypresses and then submit DrawText() commands when the event is raised. For more details, check MSDN for keypress events in C#.

I've got another question - when I change the y-axis with my mouse, generally grabbing the y-axis and pushing up or down to change the range of data shown, a little box with an "F" appears in the top right corner and I have to press that to get the chart to auto-scale again.

I'm doing this a lot. Is there any way I can set a hotkey to reset the chart, instead of relying on my mouse?

            Thanks

This is not currently possible but we are tracking the suggestion with ID # 197. Thanks for the observation.
