Please fix Point & Figure implementation

Please fix Point & Figure implementation!

The way Ninja handles P&F - is wrong !
No gray zone here, its simply wrong.

You should not slice the charts at session ending.
You should not slice the charts at all!

Many have ask this here before.

You can not list Point & Figure as a feature in Ninja
as long as this issue persists.

    regards

        Shouldn't there be a percent P & F? An X or O represent a fall or rise in (say) 1% or 3%?

          Hi JakobR,

          Thank you for your post.

I'll forward that feedback on to development as well.

            point and figure errors

It amazes me that I still can't find trading software that implements PnF correctly.

Here is an esignal PNF chart based on a 4h time frame, 3 box reversal, 10pip box size.

As far as I can tell, i've set the chart up correctly on Ninja but the results are completely different. Here is the same chart on Ninjatrader, very wrong. I've highlighted a few examples, but it's littered with mistakes.

Are there plans to fix these errors?

            Cheers,

            KinsaleForex

KinsaleForex, welcome to our forums - I would not exactly know how eSignal would create their bars, but NT7 would reset the count of the PNF bars at each session break, changing this and allowing more options here for the more exotic bars types in on our enhancement list for future consideration. As a workaround you could create yourself a session template that would span for example a full week and then apply this to your PNF chart, so the break would only be once a week.

                Thanks for the welcome.

I'm not sure why there has to be a break at all? This isn't a standard for point and figure charting so can it not be done away with?

                Cheers,

                KF

KF, the reset at session break is included for those barstypes as it introduces more consistency for the charts as it would not depend then at which exact data / bar you start your series. We understand some users working on longer times frames would like to see this changed and made more flexible, so we've added it to our list of feedback.

For Goodness Sake! Please correct it once and for all!

Look at the PNF chart and the Session Template!!!

I don't think it is the session that causes the BIG GAP at around 00:25!!!

I believe it is your seriously flawed PNF Chart IMPLEMENTATION!!!

Please make this a priority... I am one of the many disappointed PNF Ninjatrader Chart user...

                    Thanks

javgeek, which data provider are you using here? Can you please recheck after a reload of your historical data? As this gap could show if there was for example missing data in this period. I tried to reproduce your setup here and did not see the gap created with a session template running the full week on NT7 R7.

                        Thanks,

                          Hi Betrand,
Has there been any progress on PnF implementation? If so, do you have a release date for this fix?
                          Thanks

Welcome to our forums - addressing this limitation is on our list for the next major NT update, however I would not have an ETA / time window to provide.
