IB + Kinetick daily data and strategies

Hi,

I have some FX strategies that run on daily bars.
-I connect to IB first (historical data disabled)
-Then I connect to Kinetick EOD
-Then I reload all daily data.
-Then I enable the strategies from the strategies tab.

After they have been running for 1+ days the daily charts and executions look very different from a daily chart loaded only from Kinetick.
What is wrong?

Should I have something opened that forces the fetching of daily bars from Kinetick?
Either IB's daily bars dont work with NT correctly or NT doesnt fetch them.

Hi naxo79, I would expect them to be different since you're mixing FX historical data from Kinetick with realtime data from IB - a solution would be to subscribe to Kinetick realtime and then connect to Kinetick first so all data (hist and realtime) comes from one source and you just execute to IB where your account resides.

So in order to trade with IB and NT you have to pay for both Kinetick and IB data?

Yes, if you would like to trade with all data coming from the same source in this setup (which would be recommended). I think for IB it's just a fee if you don't execute enough through them...

Still dont like it. The data for same instrument coming from 2 sources should at least be similar.

This is unfortunately expected for dealing with data sources in the uncentralized FX spot market - an alternative: trade the FX futures then on CME Globex.
