    Realized Profit and Loss reset?

    The realized P/L I have showing in my DOM stays the same.. is this until I close it and restart another one? It would be nice if it would have an option to reset this to zero. I don't really care what my P/L was yesterday, when I trade today, for example. Is this behavior expected?

      It does this for both a live and a sim account.

        With Live accounts the PnL should reset when your broker does maitenance or between sessions.

        Simulation accounts should reset thru the night. When you have finished trading for the day please be sure you close NinjaTrader in order to be sere the accounts are reset as expected.

        If you would like to reset the simulator to 0 this can be done by resetting the simulation account. Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account.

        Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.
        • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
        • Select the "Simulator" tab
        • Press the "Reset" button

          This is not a viable solution. I'm collecting data every tick, so closing NT is never really a good solution. However, I can just open a new DOM if I want and that will reset it, just wondering if there was an easier way.

            Is there anyway to not have the PnL reset on broker maintenance, but instead carry through to the next session?

              There would not be a means to force the PnL to stay through multiple days if a disconnect occurs.

                Can you please clarify "maintenance" and especially "between sessions" (how often are they)?

                A session = a trading day ???
                --> So realized PnL is reset daily?

                  Hello ninZa,

                  Thank you for your note.

                  Broker maintenance occurs infrequently but when it does happen, accounts would be disconnected ending the current session. Maintenance typically occurs on a weekend or outside of trading hours.

                  A session is the duration of time you are connected to your broker in the NinjaTrader platform.
