market replay

Hi,

I have some market replay files which I am assuming works because 1) I have placed it into the db folder and NT7 appears to recognise it.

I have followed the manual wrt how to select the instruments to "play"

But I am seeing no output/display. What am I missing?

I would like to chart the data along with an indicator...but I can't even see anything!

Thank you for your post.

Can you see live data when you select play from the Order tab of the Control Center or from a SuperDOM window?

What is the date, instrument (and expiry if futures), and time you are trying to replay?

What do you have your session template set to? You can check this by right clicking on the chart--> select "data series"

1) i don't run "live" data as yet
2) the market replay is for ES 12-10. I've created an instrument for ES 12-10 by using the default that NT created.
3) the date i'm running is from 10/24 to 10/29
4) for some reason, i can't alter the date in the chart past 10/23

Sorry for the confusion - I did not mean live as in real time data, I meant do you see data streaming to these windows? We need to check if it is an issue with the chart, or if you can get replay data through the SuperDOM or Orders tab

Please try using the Default 24/7 session template.

• Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
• In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

Please let me know if you continue to experience issues.

I got it to work!

I went into the instrument manager and added default to the broker list in addition to globex. then added it to my default list of instruments!

Not sure whether that was the issue or not...but I think the manual could go a bit further into explaining what we expect to see on the functions we want to use with market replay.

MArket replay not working NT7 vs 6

thanks for your post, hope yr online!!

Just want to clarify if I'm on the same page, i downloaded (via the market replay connection) the ES 9-11 from 1-MARCH-11 to 17-JULY-11 downloaded fine after some trouble with dates etc
I can start it and at some point the charts stop up dating, i have the time set to 24/7 & check to see if it's during business hrs the freezing occurs, I use 2 charts 15 & daily +super DOM
Down loaded the lates NT7, deleted & reloaded the file, no JOY
running a new Laptop 4Gram using 64 bit, W7 & Sp2

How did you add default to the Inst manager??

Could someone from NT PLEASE provide a difinitive YES or NO as to whether the replay function is stable or not

(I'm concerned as one member said "we spend more time doing IT repairs than trading")

Hi Spaggetti Ninjja,

I realised that doesn't really resolve the issue. You just need to move the slider a touch forward and that should do the trick. Not sure why...I've started another thread on it.

If you're still interested on the instrument manager, go to Tools -> Instrument Manager. Search for the instrument you want, select it and click the edit button. Under the exchanges window, you will see "default". Select that. Next click the Misc tab, type the ticker in external.
