Not Starting

Hi,

I run NT7 and it stopped working on me now.

It shows the initial screen of loading things and stops there with loading any workspaces or charts.

In windows task manager there's ninjatrader.exe.

It looks like it didn't even start so I double click NT7 icon it gives me an error message

saying "there only can be one instance of ninjatrader running at a time (ninjatrader/2)"

Any idea?

It's on windows xp sp3.

Ok.
I did a little diggin here and it looks like "server maintenance" is the issue.

But again there's much room to improve regarding this issue.

I think it's best not to use "auto connect" after Friday's session.

Thank you for your post.

The auto connect feature can prevent NinjaTrader from starting if the connection does not establish.

This should resolve after the server maintenance is complete - however if you would like to disable the connect on startup up feature, please make sure you have a copy of your license key and broker information and then delete your configuration file.

You can delete this file by first shutting down NinjaTrader, then navigate to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7 and delete the file named 'config.xml'.

Then restart NinjaTrader and you will be prompted to enter your license key. Once NinjaTrader starts, you can setup your broker connection without enabled 'Connect on Start up'

That helped because I didn't have to wait till the server get back up running to work with historical data.
