    Installation Problem

    Hello,

    I'm trying to install NT for the first time.
    I've downloaded and installed the file. The application tried to open, asked me to enter my License Number into a small window but did not start. The standard Windows Error Report Message appeared.

    I've tried to open NT several times -- the same result.

    I've disabled Antivirus, NinjaTrader is excluded in Firewall. I've even tried to download NT again wit MS Explorer and again with Firefox. No result after installation.

    Is there any way to solve the issue?

    Thank you for your post.

    Please follow the instructions below to re-install the Microsoft .NET Framework on your PC.
    • Terminate any applications running on your PC
    • Go to the Windows Control Panel
    • "Add/Remove programs" for XP users or "Uninstall a program" for Vista users
    • Locate and uninstall the .NET Framework
      • If your highest version is 4.0 or greater than do not continue with these instructions and let us know and we will follow up with further instructions
      • If your highest version is 3.5 then proceed and uninstall this version and skip the next line
      • If your highest version is 2.0 then proceed and uninstall this version

    • Install version 3.5 of the .NET Framework which contains the 2.0 version which is required by NinjaTrader 6.5 (Download from here)
    • After the install please check for updates to the .Net Framework with the Windows Update function

    Note: Do not reboot your PC in between these steps as this can potentially create more issues that we are unfortunately not qualified to assist with.

      Hello again,

      I've reinstalled .NET and upgraded it as you said.
      The same result.
      Just NT7 loading screen and again Windows "Send a error report" message.

      May be there are any other ways to solve the problem?

        To investigate this further could you please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] Com ATTN: Cameron and include this forum link in the body.


        Attach and email the following Log, Trace, and Config.xml files.
        You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        • The log file will be named log.20110620.txt

        You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        • The trace file will be named ?trace.20110620.txt

        You will find the Config.xml file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Config.xml
        Attach and email me these files in it's original format.

          Hey Cameron,

          i have joker's problem in the same form, but the error message occured after working with NT7 over months.

          I found that there are troubles with some xml system files, but new installation of NET 3.5 has not produced any results.

          Are there some general informations about this issue?
