    Hi,
    what should I do to resolve this? I tried about three smtp servers and all give this dialog window.

      yes, I would like those emails go to my gmail account, it worked when I used my ISP smtp server in the past, but now that does not work.

      I tried also smtp.gmail.com with login of my email and my password, the same error.

        Did you try the smtp.gmail.com with Port 587 and having SSL checked?

            Please try then with your hard / software firewalls set to a minimum set of filtering or even off for a quick test. Would that change the outcome seen?

              I do not use any firewall, it runs on virtual server and there it even cannot be enabled. I contacted them and they told me they do not interfere in any way in respect to this problem. I would like to know what error is that NT7 reports, you should know what can cause exactly this error, right?

                That's a reply from the Gmail servers, here the entry in their help on it :

                5.7.1 Permissions problem. For some reason the sender is not allowed to email this account. Perhaps an anonymous user is trying to send mail to a distribution list.

                Check SMTP Virtual Server Access Tab. Allow computers that successfully authenticate to relay.

                User may have a manually created email address that does not match a System Policy.

                Exchange 2003 SBS gives this error if IMF is set to "reject" and the message falls into that top threshold. Click System Manager > Global Settings > Message Delivery (right click > Properties) > Intelligent Message Filtering; then set "When blocking messages", to No Action, and see if that message goes away. The threshold might need to be set higher if it's happening a lot.

                Are you trying with your correct GMail username that does NOT contain the @gmail.com ending?

                  I had the same thing happening to me (errors after changing settings). Managed to get it working by first hitting the OK-button, and then going back to hit the test button (like it doesn't stick the first time).
                  Might be co-incidence, but it did the trick for me.

                    Hello Hans,

                    Thanks for reporting - you must first hit OK to "apply" the settings before they will be used for testing.
