    Removing Expired Proprietary Indicators

When I tried to compile a custom indicator an old expired proprietary indicator (from UMT) gave an error. I tried to remove those custom indicators and their expired metadata, but get that an outstanding compilation error prevents removing any indicator.

So I am stuck in limbo. I can not correct the proprietary indicators, I can not remove them and I can not create or edit any personal indicators.

    Any help or advice appreciated!

    Regards,
    Raj

    Please try the following:

Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator

Highlight the indicator you wish to remove and press the "Delete" button.

      Ray, hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, the expired proprietary indicators that I need to delete do not show up in the list of custom indicators. The were installed by copying the .cs and .dll files directly to the bin>custom directory, and are not in the bin>custom>indicator directory.
      Regards,
      Raj

You can reverse the process by doing these steps backwards.

Ok, I removed the Reference to Vendor.dll, and moved the vendor's .cs and .dll files out of the Custom directory.

I shut down and restarted NT.

I still get the "you have custom Ninjascript files with errors" message. I can't import, export create new scripts.

          Thanks for your help.
          Regards,

            Miscellaneous Support

            Hello,

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/ strategy or remove it from your PC. If you’re wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies. Not just one.

            1) Open NinjaTrader
            2) From the Control Center -> Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicator
            3) Select an indicator and double click on it.
            4) A new window will appear and you will need to right click and compile the indicator.
            5) At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations.
            6) From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.

Let me know if this does the trick for you.

Yes, however I think in the process I may have damaged something else: I now get compile errors from the "Jurik" and "Woodies" indicators.

Also, I had imported some indicators in version 1000.5 that don't show up in the 1000.6 indicator list.
