Question on Volume in thin areas...

Am curious...have noticed in the screen shot that there is no volume showing in some locations where individual dots (dots are connected with a 1 period rectangular average) are showing in the seconds chart (indicating there was a trade at dots there)...how is it that a trade dot can be showing with no volume associated with it...??

update...did another chart with Ninjas VolumeUpDown study (2nd screen shot below)...there volume is showing on individual dots pretty much OK....guess the other volume study (BSC) skips the thin stuff....

Hi Alfred, thanks looks to be the case here from your shots, have you checked with the DataBox what vol value you would get here reported? Is it really 0 or really small compared to the scale?

In The BSC (BuySellCentered study) Volume of 1 or 2 shows OK in the data box at some single dots....but not on chart ...volume of 3 or above always shows OK on chart....was just curious about this...thanks....

Alfred,

Put the VOL indicator on the chart as a reference indicator to see how many contracts are traded in each bar.

Now you can do a comparison to make sure all the volume is being properly displayed in the indicators you are testing.
