    MACD indicator

    Hi everyone

This is a very basic question as I am new to the program and just trying to grasp it.

I am looking to set up a screener to where it shows me stocks that have a bullish MACD crossover. I see there are the indicators for MACD, but I do not know how to go about everything to set this up.

Sorry for the juvenile question, but I would greatly appreciate help.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

If you would like an alert if the MACD crosses a value this can be done by setting an Alert or Color Condition within the Market Analyzer. I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over setting up conditions.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

      Thanks for the response.

Now is there a template to go off of for what I am asking?

Unfortunately we do not have templates available however within the Support Forum link below in each section there are examples.

Ok, so I watched the youtube videos on setting up the market analyzer.

My question now is more about how to set up what I want specifically with the MACD crossover. I am really looking for a set up that can spit me out a list of everything that is just crossing over. Is this possible?

To calculate the MACD, the longer moving average (in this case, the
26-day exponential moving average) is subtracted from the shorter moving
average (12-day exponential moving average). The line is placed on a scale
against the 9-day exponential moving average of the MACD.

When the fast line crosses above the slow line, it generates a buy signal.
When the fast line crosses below the slow line, a signal to sell or go
          short is triggered.

          Appreciate the help

You may create a strategy within the Strategy Wizard that would generate the Buy and Sell Orders then apply this strategy to specific instruments however we do not currently have a screener available at this time that will give you a list of instruments that have triggered this condition.

I have forwarded this to our development team as a suggestion on how we can improve the NinjaTrader platform. Once this suggestion has been input into our tracking system I will forward you the assigned ID number for tracking.

I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over the Strategy Wizard.
