    Daily Charts History

    Hi Ninjas,

I'm trying to look back to July 2010 on MSFT by simply scrolling. However, I'm only able to scroll back to September 2010. Is there something that I'm missing?

    Cheers

    Carlton

    Hello,

    Thanks for your forum post.

Who is your daily data provider you are connected too?

Also, if you right click on the chart and select data series, what is days to load set too?

I look forward to assisting you further.

      Daily Charts not loading

I’m connected to IB and getting only one bar (from today) when I choose “Daily”.
My days to load are set to 365. Even if there would be a problem with IB, I should be able to get the historical EOD data loaded from Kinetick – which also is not the case.
I’m trying to download historical data as far back as year 2000.
My next question is the Data Series – do I need to download all the DS (e.g. 1min, 5min, etc.) or it is enough to download 1min and NinjaTrader (smart as it is) will take care of the rest and combine the DS?

      Any suggestions?

      Regards

        Hello,

Please right click on chart and select data series. Then change the session template to Default 24/7. This should allow the chart to come up. In the next release this will be resolved.

            Hello,

Normally i would say to increase the days to load here to load more data.

However I know that IB only supports a years worth of historical data to NinjaTrader. Therefor a year is the max ammount of daily data you can load from this provider.

If you need more then a year what you can do is use another data feed provider. You can check out www.kinetick.com for this data if needed.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

              Hello Brett,

Well, this may solve the problem for the daily display but it will mess up my 1 minute charts.
I’m trading the German Market and created my own session template. The “Default 24/7” displays bars outside the regular trading hours. (Regular trading hours 0900-1730, XETRA trading hours 0800-2000)

              Any other proposal?

                Hello,

You do not need to use Default 24/7 on the minute chart. Use the regular session you use on that. You only need to use Default 24/7 non the daily chart. Also the session template does not apply to daily charts so it does not affect the daily chart data.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
