Cannot connect to IB with latest version of TWS

I just upgraded to the latest version of TWS (build 918.8 June 29, 2011 4:25:40pm).

I am now no longer able to connect to TWS via NT.

I start TWS manually, and then when I connect to my IB connect, which was working with a previous version from February, it now pops up a new dialog box asking me to log into IB again. When I try using this dialog box, it still doesn't connect.

Is this a known issue and is there anything I can do to fix this?

BTW I have the latest version of NT 7.0.6

Yes, unfortunately this is a known issue. You will need to install TWS 917.

Okay, thank you for your quick reply. I have installed the previous version (917.9) and it appears to work.

Out of curiosity, is there a plan to support 918 for the next release?

I am not aware of plans to support TWS 918 in the next release of NinjaTrader 7.

This is interesting as I encountered the same issue. This is because TWS changed the way they authenticate clients like TWS and any 3rd party clients (NT). Your comment that there are no plans to support TWS 918 in NT 7 seems to indicate a strong lack of support for IB/TWS. Is this a shift away from IB? Sure you won't answer honestly if you are not allowed to but interested in your response regardless.

This is not an indication of a shift away from IB. The current supported TWS version is 917. We will support new TWS versions in the future as we always have.
