    I know that now, ALL I THINK WE ARE ASKING FOR IS LET US KNOW say on Friday that the servers will be going through some maintenance this weekend. I don't think that's too much to ask. Is it? An email would have been nice. I mean the markets are not open, but that doesn't mean that some folks don't want to do stuff with on the platform. Besides, some of us paid for the lifetime license.

      The data feed is separate from NinjaTrader itself. Whenever we do have maintenance or need to bring down one of our servers we create an alert in the software.

      Each data feed has their own servers and own maintenance periods. We don't even receive an update when they go down for maintenance.

      Regarding Zen-Fire specifically, they normally perform maintenance on the Saturday of every week and can last all day.

        Thanks again to everyone that posted. It saved me a lot of time knowing it was a maintenance issue. I just don't recall having no connectivity from Friday night thru Saturday.

        Happily, I am now connected!

            No need for apologies from Ninja. I'm angry with Zen-Fire. A notification from them would have been simply common courtesy. It would have saved a bunch of us time and trouble. I've never had trouble connecting on the weekends before and, this weekend, I wanted to download some historical data for backtesting and practice. It doesn't connect and I'm thinking any number of things: my subscription's expired, there's something wrong with my Internet connection, someone hacked my platform and changed my pw/username. Could be anything. Yo! Zen-Fire: tell us when your service is going to be unavailable. Damn!

                The NinjaTrader servers are currently up and running.

                Can you check your 'Log' tab of Control Center for any Server Disconnect messages, if you see any, please report them.

                  Ninja seems to hang loading data today?

                  My ninja just seems to keep loading, and loading and loading...
                  blank charts.
                  Do I need to re-install it or is it just today?
                  Any one else having this problem??

                    Hello aquarian1,

                    Can you tell me the following:

                    - What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About, this will look like 7.0.1000.x

                    - Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

                    - What instrument have you selected?

                    - Do you receive live data for this instrument in the SuperDOM or Time & Sales Window?

                    - Do the charts say 'Loading Data' and is there activity in the lower right corner of the Control Center?

                    - Is there an error message listed in the Log tab of the Control Center? If errors are found, please report.

                      everything the same as yest:

                      version 64 bit 7.0.1000.8
                      on main screen at bottom right is says loading data.....
                      (connection light is green)
                      connected to IB
                      If you click on a chart - any chart it says loading data....
                      ES and Tick

                          Please use the steps I have provided below to delete your historical data:
                          • Close NinjaTrader
                          • Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db folder -> cache folder
                          • Select all files-->Right mouse click-->Delete
                          • Open NinjaTrader
                          • Connect

                          Open a new ES chart without any indicators or templates applied.

                          Does the chart load with data or remain stuck with 'Loading data' after this procedure?

                            Hi Cameron,

                            Thanks for the suggestion.
                            In between posts I decided to do a windows system restore.
                            It turns out that this morning Windows did an automatic critical system update , so this restore point is back a couple of days and I have turned off the windows7 auto-update.

                            With the restore point Ninja is now loaded and working with charts showing the data.

                            It may be that I have to go to the newer Ninja7 when I left windows7 install its updates - however I'll leave that for after trading hours. - only so much frustration for one day.

                            My reluctance to upgrading to newer Ninja7 (not sure if it will work either with the windows7 update of this morning) PLEASE POST IF OTHER USERS HAVE PRBS THANKS!) is that some of indicators won't work -more and more wasted time.

                            I have made a copy your suggestion of purging historical data and keep it for when I work up the strength to face all the prbs of these udpates!
