NT7 link TWS

    NT7 link TWS

    Today I upgraded (unfortunately) to TWS InteractiveBrokers, but I have a problem.

    1) I start the TWS and everything OK
    2) I start the NT7 and everything OK
    3) But when I run: File7/Connect/InteractiveBrokers, the NT7, starts a new TWS, and then fails.

    Hello Morphy,

    Unfortunately, you will need to have TWS 917 installed. TWS 918 will cause connection issues as you experience.

    You can install TWS 917 from the connection guide from the following link.


    Please let me know if the error persists after you installed TWS 917.

      What do I do?

      1) Uninstall the TWS 918, and then install the TWS917_8?
      2) Or the 917_8 overwrites the 918?

        Unfortunately, I am not sure if TWS 917 will overwrite TWS 918.

        I suggest to try and install it on top of TWS 918 and check if this will work.

        If not, I suggest contact IB support to inquire if it is possible to save your settings before you uninstall TWS 918 and reinstall TWS 917.

          Jason, thanks for everything.

          IB support is very slow.

          From the IB website, I downloaded the file you need to go back to version 917_9.
          I installed, it is overwritten, and now everything is OK

            Is there any projected date for NT7 to work with TWS 918?

              Excuse me but...

              After the disaster of yesterday, I remained a "small" problem.
              I can not plot the data daily.
              Yet there is my archive!

                Please note that there is a known issue in NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.6 which causes daily charts not to display data using most session templates. It is solved by using the 'Default 24/7' session template.

                Can you please make sure the 'Default 24/7' session template is selected. Please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. Set 'Session template' to 'Default 24/7' and check if you display price bars.

                The issue will be fixed in the next version (7.0.1000.7) and does not occur in version 7.0.1000.5 either which is still available on our download page.


                Unfortunately, there is no ETA if and when TWS 918 will be supported.

                  In fact, yesterday I upgraded from NT 5 to 6.
                  To return to the 5, just run the file: setup version 5?
                  It is overwritten?

                    Please uninstall NinjaTrader from the Windows Control Panel-->Programs and Features. Subsequently, install version 7.0.1000.5. You will save all settings and data.

                    All settings and data is located at (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7 which is unaffected when you uninstall NinjaTrader via the Control Panel.

                          Hi jlimber,

                          The current recommended version of TWS to use with NinjaTrader remains 917.8.
