Blank daily chart in NT7

I am using NT7 and am getting the following problem loading a daily chart.

After connecting to data provider (eSignal), I try to create a new chart using following settings:

Period
Price based on: Last
Type: Day
Value: 1

Data
Load data based on: Days
Days to load: 365
End date: 26.07.2011
Session Template: <Use instrument settings>

Click OK and a blank chart comes up. No indicators, no bars, just a blank chart. I have tried it with the default chart template, no chart template, using eSignal, using Yahoo and still a blank chart.

I must be overlooking something. I´ve never had this problem with NT6.5.

Hi h1000,

Please try the following to restore the charts:
Right click on Chart > Data Series.
Change session template to Default 24 /7.

You are likely running into an issue that will be resolved with next NT release.

Yes, that was the problem. Is it possible to create a custom session template?

Using the 24/7 template appears to result in after and pre hours data being included on a daily stick.

You can create a custom session template, but it will only change the time stamp of the bar. Daily bars are not built according to session template definitions. They're built from the data provider and NT displays what they send.

To control custom session templates for daily bars, you need access to an intraday provider, and then would create a synthetic daily bar built from this -- Ex: A 1440 minute bar for the full 24h.
