About NJ strategy usage

I am trying to explore the features of NJ automated trading, aka, strategy. Here are several questions I have:

1. How to use a 3rd party DLL/library in Strategy Editor?
2. How to retrieve broker server time in case of local machine time out of sync?
3. I only see BUY/SELL and DAY/GTC in DLL/COM interface. How can an order with BUY_TO_COVER/SHORT_SELL and DAY_EXT/GTC_EXT be submitted through DLL ATI?
4. How long is the tmeout for DLL/COM Connect()?

Hi Daniel,

1. You can right-click the editor window and then selected references and add your DLL and you should be able to use it fine.

2. This is not currently possible. There are many computer clock synchronization programs around, and there is only one "official" time, so any sync should get your computer to the right time. It doesn't really matter but if your clock is very off, some providers won't let you connect.

3. You might not need BTC/Sell short. Please try just doing sell and buy and see if that works. The other TIFs are not supported in the dll interface.

4. Not sure, I'll confirm on Monday.

There is limited support for the .DLL interface. What sort of strategy are you trying to write? Perhaps a NinjaScript strategy would be better for your needs - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...strategies.htm.
