    Workspace disapears

    Hello,

    everytime i mistakenly try to run NinjaTrader twice or more by clicking on the icon, it gives an error saying I can't have 2 instances of NinjaTrader running at the same time.

    The problem is that after this error window my workspace is completely gone, all of them. This happened more than once and it's really annoying so I believe someone else might have reported this problem and NinjaTrader support can help me solve it.

    Hello,

    There is no solution to the double click of the icon. It will give this error if you try to use NinjaTrader twice in a row.

    However I do not expect workspaces to be removed for any reason.

    Are you able to create a test workspace and do a restart and then double click the icon, does the workspace remain or is it gone?

    Please also if you have a workspace setup you want to keep please do a backup so that you can restore if this happens again.

    File->Utilities->Backup.

      Found a solution

      When this happens Ninja creates a new Untitled.xml workspace and does not open the previous default one. They did not disappear, I had to go the menu

      File » Workspace » Open workspace

      and everything is ok.

      It's annoying still.

                Can you walk us through the steps you're taking with as much detail as possible? Perhaps our testing procedure differs from your steps.

                  I'll try,

                  My computer is not that fast so when I usually open Ninja is right after I turn it on and other programs might be also working on the background (like Firefox) but here's my hardware specs:

                  Intel Core2 6300 @ 1.86Ghz
                  4GB RAM
                  Windows7 64 bit operating system

                  What I do is go to the start menu and click on the NinjaTrader icon twice because sometimes I'm not sure if I really clicked it because it looks like nothing is happening. After that I get the "you can only run one instance of Ninja..." message.

                  Hope it helps, there's nothing else I do besides this.

                    Alright, Thanks for that information.

                    I'm not able to duplicate currently. You might have some anti virus or something like that going on that might be affecting this is the last idea I have.

                      Workspace will not open

                      I am using Windows 7/64 Home Premium, NT 7.006. My workspace will not open. It only shows an hourglass. Last night, my computer uploaded new updates from Windows Update. Any known issues here? I have not had this problem previous to the windows update.

                      Update: the workspace finally did load after about 20 minutes.

                        There is no known issues at this time with updates or otherwise.

                        Did the charts come up and its blank space trying to load the charts or has nothing at all come up?

                          Brett,

                          Nothing came up. The software is definitely going slow to open the workspace. I did close all additional running programs a a check to see if any other program was interfering somehow. After exiting Yahoo Messenger, the workspace opened. It appears that was the problem for now.
