Ahh, great! Now it works.. I was not aware the program compiled everything in the directory.

    Thanks a lot.

Double-click on the error message and the NT Editor will open the correct file at the error location. The error is not in your indicator; it is in the Tides.cs file.

Regardless, the error will have to be resolved before you will have a successful compilation, as all indicators are compiled by NT into one assembly. That is where the speed and efficiency comes from, among other things.

Trejder, the red highlighted error means the error is coming from another file - tides.cs in this case. You'll have to fix the error in that script. Your MyCustomIndicator3 file compiled fine on my machine.

Trejder, welcome to our forums and thanks for letting us know - I have not heard yet of any similiar reports on this matter - what .NET framework would be run in those virtualized OS, would you know?

  • Compile indicator error on v7, but not v6.5 (MACOS)

    Hello,

Don't know if this is a general problem or because I run under MACOS with VMWARE virtualization (I understand this is unsupported), but thought I'd post it anyway.

When auto generating the indicator in accordance with the help guide (Custom Color Plots using Thresholds) I chose to create these plots "AboveZero" and "BelowZero".

I edited nothing in the generated script. Then I compiled it.

It fails with error message "AboveZero is not defined in the current context" and also "BelowZero is not defined in the current context" - or similar message.

So, I have tried this using both Windows 7 and Windows 2003 Server edition under VMWARE (i.e. very different platforms although both virtualized).

The error messages occur for both version:
    7.0.1000.7 (Current), and
7.0.1000.6 (Previous), 32-bit as well as 64-bit version

But funny thing, compiling the same code works with:
    6.5.1000.19 (Legacy)*

Just thought I'd post it before I return to explore 6.5...
