    "Ninjatrader application has stopped working"

    Good morning,

    On my Laptop both NT 7 and NT 6.5 will not start up.
    I will get the message : "Ninjatrader application has stopped working"

    On my desktop NT 7 is still working with the same
    license key.

    Can you help ?

    Hello Mark,

    Thank you for your post.

    Please follow the steps listed below to uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader. With this procedure you will not lose any Workspaces, Charts, etc.
    • Close all running applications.
    • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
    • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
    • Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
    • Reboot your machine.
    • Once these steps are completed, download NT 7.0.1000.7 from the link below:
      Download
    Please let us know if you are able to get up and running after the reinstall.

      Thank you for your very ast reply!
      I followed all the steps(including removing NT 6.5), but I couldn't install NT 7.
      I had to remove Windows 7 service pack 1. Do I have to do that ?
      I don't mind losing any workspaces or charts.

        Hello Mark,

        Can you tell me what happens when you attempt to install NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.7 without SP1 uninstalled. Do you receive any error messages? If so please forward me a screen shot of the error message.

        To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file then attach the file to your reply.

            Yes if you are receiving this message you will be required to uninstall Windows SP1 before proceeding.

              Hi Chris,
              After investigating, it seems that Service Pack 1 was allready installed on my computer before I purchased it and therefore I cannot remove it. Is it possible I can get NT back and running ?

                  Hi Chris,
                  Is it ok that I will get back to you when I'm available. I'm working offshore on a vessel at the moment and our internet connection is very slow and sometimes we have no connection. Probably next week. Would that be ok ?

                          Oh Goody.. I'm having the same problem... :-(

                          This is the error message I get when I try to uninstall NT 7 (I had the previous error message as the OP)...

                          Error 1001. Could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nip' or one of it's dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified - > Failure has occured while loading a type.

                          So apparently I can not uninstall NT...

                          P.S. I had done a system restore and when the desktop opened up I remember this message being displayed as soon as Windows 7 restarted....

                            Well now I have the feeling that I did uninstall NT 7 as there is nothing but 150kb in a file named EULA...

                            And I can't reinstall NT 7 because of the error that comes up 1001. Could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nip' or one of it's dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified -> Failure has occured while loading a type.
