    Australian SPI on ZenFire

I have a AMP broker that uses the ZF feed. I am trying to connect to the Australian futures SPI, but there is no symbol for this future listed in the Instrument Manager for ZF. I have tried the AP and SPI symbols using either the SNFE exchange or the SFE exchange, but neither work.

At the bottom of the control center it shows "Loading data...SPI 09-11 (27/08/2011 - 28/08/2011), but there is no data on the chart.

      Hi Kyle,
I understand the problem may be that I need to switch from AMP ZenFire to AMP CQG.
Before I do this, I have a live Kinetick feed for my Forex pairs. I still want Kinitick to feed my forex pairs. However, Kinitick does not provide data for the Australian SPI index (SFE/SNFE exchange).
My question: how do I setup up my connections so that I get forex data from Kinetick, and the SPI index data from AMP/CQG?

I was thinking that Kinetick must be first then CQG. But Kinetick also provides futures data, will this mean that I will not receive CQG futures data? (my understanding is that a second connection will only provide data for a type of instrument, if the first connection does not supply that type of instrument data).

        Hi astrolobe,

If you'll connect first to CQG, then to Kinetick, this will ensure that all futures and index data comes from CQG while leaving you with access to the forex data from your Kinetick connection.

          Amp/cqg

I have a question that is realtive to this thread:

My current connection is AMP/CQG, I get SPI futures data, however, only the day session and no historical data, only current data while connected.

How might I get the 24 hour market data?
Is historical data for the SPI futures available ( I'm not talking years worth history just recent session data)?

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

            Hi trumb,

            Thanks for posting.

This is as I would expect - only real-time SPI data will be available through Zen-Fire or CQG. It should be possible to collect data from any time when you are connected to CQG however.

              Thanks for the reply Kyle...
can you shed any light on how to get night session SPI data? I'm only able to get day session data at the moment.

                Hi trumb,

Two things would be required with your current setup:

1.) The chart needs to use a 'Default 24/7' session template so as to load all available data.

2.) NinjaTrader will need to be connected at all times and displaying SPI to record data (as there is no server from which to reload historical data).

I thought that NinjaTrader kept historical servers for both ZenFire and CQG.

                      Hi astrolobe,

That is correct - but SPI isn't an instrument which is recorded, so only real-time data would be available.

Is there somewhere a list of which instruments historical data the Ninjatrader servers hold?

                          Hi naxo79,

                          Thanks for your post.

Unfortunately, no such list exists. That said, it should be fairly simple to test any individual instrument - just try loading the instrument in a chart.
