NT7 does not start

    NT7 does not start

    Hello NinjaTrader team,
    I need your help.
    I had a NT6.5 Installation on my Computer and everything worked fine.
    I uninstalled the 6.5 installation and installed NT 7.0.1000.7. from your website.
    The uninstallation and installation processes ran without problems.
    The wew icon is now on the desktop and I try to start.
    If I doubleclick the NinjaTrader7 symbol the small spinning circle from Windows7 shows for half a second that something is going on but then it disappears and NinjaTrader is not starting.
    No message and no hint why.
    I tried to start it from computer desktop and from NT7 folder several times.
    I did it with administrator rights.
    I repeated to uninstall and install again.No change.
    I looked into the the trace and log folder and found no files to check.
    My computer runs Win 7 with SP1 and .net4.
    What is wrong?

    Thank you for your post.

    1.) Can you please see if NinjaTrader.exe is running in the Windows Task Manager under the Processes tab? If so, try ending the process and starting it again.

    2.) Please also try restarting your PC to see if NinjaTrader will start on a fresh reboot.

      Hello support team,

      Thank you for your quick feedback.

      I opened the Windows task manager and had a look into the process list when clicking NT icon.
      The NinjaTrader.exe task appears for half a second and then disapperars.
      No NT window, no message boxes or hints.

      After reboot of my PC and trying again there is no change.

      Do you have an idea what to check next?

        Thanks for getting back to us on this.

        Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

        In the message, please include the following:
        1.) A link to this forum thread.

        2.) A copy of today's trace file.
        You will find that file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        The file I need would be named 'trace.20110906.txt'.

          Hello Kyle,

          I looked into the mentioned folder trace and also in the one named log and found them empty.
          Strange. NT didn't create this trace file.

            Hi Michael,

            Let's try reinstalling once more:

            Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
            1. Close all running applications.
            2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
            3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
            4. Then manually delete the folder "NinjaTrader 7" located under Start --> My Documents.
            5. Delete any NinjaTrader installation files. This can be done by going to Start --> My Computer --> Search button --> search for (NinjaTrader*) --> select Local C Disk and then press search.
            6. Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
            7. Reboot your machine.
            8. Once these steps are completed, download NT7 from the link below:
              Download

            Please let us know if you are able to get up and running after the reinstall.
