Since the last NT upgrade (7.0.1000.7) and TWS upgrade (build 917.8) I have found that NT is only rarely able to connect to Interactive Brokers before timing out.
Please could one of these be done:
a) Increase the timeout period for connecting to IB
b) Allow user to configure this (in Connection Options for IB connections).
Currently I have to manually login to TWS, then use "connect" in NT.
Here is a typical timing for logging in to the currently supported TWS:
0 sec Press Login button
"Logging in x, requesting startup parameter"
33 secs "reading settings file"
33 secs "initializing managers" (NT often times out here)
another 34 seconds to completion.
Total of 100 seconds from entering login to getting connection.
I suspect the current (fixed?) NT timeout is less than this.
Perhaps the required login time varies by country or IB account configuration, so it makes sense to allow users to configure this.
