    Tick Charts in Market Replay

I recently downloaded NT 7 for the Market Replay feature. I was able to connect to the day and instrument with no problems and get the charts going for any time frame (1min, 5min, 60min, etc.) However, what I want to do is display tick charts, for example 1000 tick charts. I do not see "tick" as an option on the interval icon at the top of my charts. It only has time based options.

How do I configure the charts to display as tick charts?

    Thanks!

    Hello kyhermit,

Please see my response for the email request you sent in for this.

You can set tick based charts by right clicking on the chart > Data Series > Changing Type to Ticks and then setting a value.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts as well, like typing 5000T + Enter for a 5000 tick chart. This page can help with changing data series and using the keyboard shortcuts.

See the section: How to change a Data Series

        Tick chart data

I have the 7 version NT and in the replay market when I use tick data for my charts they work fine when chart is set to 150 ticks per bar. But when I set it to 1000 ticks, I only get like 3 bars for the whole day. Anyone know anything? P.S. I trade ES.

Can you tell me what day you are looking at and the expiry being used for the ES when you see this behavior.

              Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Which Session Template is used in the chart? To check, please right click in the chart and select Data Series. Session Template is shown on the right.

Under session template in data series, this is what it reads "<Use instrument settings>"

                  Hello,

                  Thank you for clarifying.

I'd recommend changing the Session Template setting to include additional hours.

                  • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
                  • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

I just tried that and no difference. If I use 10 ticks for value than it seems to work fine. But not 1000 ticks which I still get like 4 bars for the whole day, any day.

I have tested this on my end and unfortunately I was unable replicate the issue, for example on 6/11 I am showing 14 bars.

First please use the steps I have provided below to delete Market Replay files for 6/10-6/12:
                      • Close NinjaTrader
                      • Documents
                      • NinjaTrader 7
                      • Open the db folder
                      • Open the Data folder
                      • Market Replay files will be listed by the date of the file
                      • Right mouse click on the file and select Delete

Next go to File-->Utilities-->Download Replay Data and download new replay data from the servers for the days that were deleted.

Please let me know if the issue persists when replaying data after this procedure.

Finally it works but I downloaded 6/17 data. Thank you.

                          Hello,

Please right click in the chart and select Indicators.
In the Indicators menu, select your indicator from the list on the lower left.
On the right side of the menu, set the 'Calculate on Bar Close' property to False then click OK.
