Resetting sim accounts deletes all strategies

I want to share my frustration in addition to this locked thread

Apparently this was known since beta days. It is a major frustration and the reasoning given is far from convincing. Why should the user go through a potentially lengthy setup process for nothing ? This is a design flaw. Please fix. Thanks.

Thanks for your answer. There is a seemingly related issue : After disconnecting from market replay, all strategies that were marked with market replay account vanish with all the meticulously chosen parameters. This might be the same design issue and maybe should be handled together. In any case please do not let us loose work. If the software cannot determine if the strategy should or should not stay or which account should be there, just ask, do not delete !

Yes, this is similar. If the account is no longer available, then the strategy won't display there.

One feature you may not be aware of is the Save As Default setting when creating a strategy. After setting up all your preferred parameters: Right Click in the strategy area > Save As Default. The next time you create a new instance of the strategy, it will use all those settings you saved.

IMHO strategy params should be saved not just as "default" but per instrument and bar type. Similar to what you have in data series dialog, where different defaults for bars to load are saved for each bar type. That would be useful.

Sure, it would be useful to have multiple sets of desired parameters. Thank you for the feedback. Working with the current system, you could save multiple copies of your strategy to provide a unique name and unique parameter set available to save as default.
