    very basic order question!

Hello, new to the dynamic DOM and just wondering how I go about placing an order ABOVE current price? sorry for such a newb question just it's driving me mad lol

I am using MB Trading as a feed and so in tenth pip for data, so if trading GBP/USD for example and price is currently 1.5728'2' and I wish to go long at 1.5730'8' for instance, how do I go about making this order so it will just execute once price reaches that level??

    thanks

    reggiedonald,

    Thank you for your note.

You can place stop market and stop limit orders by clicking with the middle mouse scroll wheel on the DOM beyond price. Here is a link to the Help Guide and video on placing orders in the SuperDOM: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...es/nt7/sub.htm

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Hey thanks for that, clears it up..

I'm a bit confused tho, I am practicing basic order entry see..
anyway I hold CTRL, and mid mouse button at a price above current price (in this example I just did 10000 on GBP/USD at 1.5738'0, so once the ask price hits it I get a message thrown up saying:

"MB Trading. Sell Stop or Sell Stop limit orders can't be placed above the market. affected order: Sell 10000 stop @ 1.5738'0" with an OK button for me to click

Why is it doing this? thanks

I think I just figured it out, please explain if I am right lol

I had an ATM strategy setup for 10 on my stoploss... I was under the impression this meant 10 pips - however am I correct in saying that with my data on 'tenth pip' it actually only means a stop of 1 pip, hence when I get filled the stop is already above bid price which causes that message?

        Hope I am correct lol
        Thanks again

Yes that is correct. If you want a stoploss of 10 pips when you have it set on tenth-pips, you would need to enter '100' in the stop field.
