can't create a new strategy

I practiced to create new strategy today, which however always showed an error of "Metadata file 'c:\program files\ninjatrader 7/bin/ninjatrader.core.dll could not be found". It's shown as CS006.

Is there some file missing? should I re-install the program?

This issue occurs when the references are improperly setup. Could you double check that the file NinjaTrader.Core.Dll is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin ? If not you may need to re-install NinjaTrader. If so, please get back to me.

yes, you are right. The file is located in there. What could I do to make right reference without re-installing the program?

In the control center, go to Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Open an indicator (doesn't matter which one) > Right click in the editor > Select "references" > click "Add", navigate to the location I previously mentioned and add this reference.

I changed the reference, which however didn't work. So I simply created a folder at the location that the error message pointed to and then copied the needed files there. It didn't ask for that file any more, but instead asked for a new one : C:\Documents and Settings\a347312\My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\custom\NinjaTrader.vendor.dll" could not be found. This location looks very weird. How to fix it?

I have found this file in other locations, but don't know how to create a folder at above path under WIN 7. I know the method I am using is silly, other better ways?

It sounds to me like a reinstall would fix the majority of your issues. However, you can add that reference to ninjatrader.vendor.dll the same way I mentioned before.

NEVER MIND. FIGURED OUT. THANKS

I re-installed the program. It worked fine now except for one problem, which is the Strategy icon is greyed and can't be enabled on the chart window. It says it is disabled if ChartTrader is enabled, which however is not the case. How to fix it?

Hi there, please create a new chart and try running a strategy from the new chart. If that doesn't solve the issue, let us know.
