    close - flatten

    Hello,

when running NT-script-strategies it occurs that a strategy can be closed with chart-trader (of course in another chart-window as the strategy) and also it occurs that another strategy can not be closed with chart-trader (I had to solve by adding a flatten-button as flatten-conditon within the strategy).

This is interesting and I couldn´t find out untill now why.

Can you please inform what is the reason or how to determine so that a strategy can be closed with chart-trader?

    Thanks
    Tony

      Hello,

thank you for your reply. Where do you mean this? In the script? (There I have now ExitShort(); and ExitLong(); linked with a customized flatten-button in the strategy.)

It´s OK by doing with the flatten-button I made after recognizing the issue (maybe its not an issue but an error on my end - just curious when a strat can be closed with "close" in chart-trader and when not)

      Best regards
      Tony

        TonyNT,

Could you clarify what you mean? Are you witnessing Chart trader being able to close orders sometimes and sometimes not?

          Hello,

yes I think this happened. Is this possible that script-strategies can not be closed by chart-trader maybe? (as one can not modify the stops created from a script-strategy).

I clicked several times on close button in Chart-trader but the trades could not be closed.

          Thanks
          Tony

            TonyNT,

            Thanks for your note.

Due to internal order handling rules, if you place a sell on the same instrument a buy is in place, it will close out your position. You could try to use the unmanaged approach which doesn't have the built-in safety features of the managed approach but lets you have more control over orders.
