NT fails to start in the morning

    NT fails to start in the morning

    I'm been observing this for the last 3-4 trading days.

    For example yesterday I start it at 9:30est right at the open, and it keeps freezing and I shut it off via task manager. I do this twice and it's not running until 9:50!

    Today, I open it a little before the opening at 9:25est, it works, I see the new the data loaded on the chart, but 5 minutes later right at the open NT freezes! I close it via task manager, try to reopen but only to see it freeze repeatedly. Again, only by ~9:50 does it start to work.

    I only have 2 open workspaces: "empty" and my "main" one. Empty has nothing in it, my main one has 11 windows (4 instruments) and I'm only loading 14 days worth of data for all but one of them, and 60 days on a 15min chart.

    Do I need to clear any temp files? How do I restore fast functionality?

    There are no temporary files that need to be cleared.

    Do you know what your CPU or memory is at during this time? How many indicators do you have loaded on these charts? What type of indicators are they? Are they all system indicators or custom add-ons/scripts?

    Are your indicators typically set to CaculateOnBarClose true or false?

      Very very few. 8 charts, on 5 I just have daily/prior OHLC, volume, and daily/weekly pivots.

      On the other 3 I have dvaluearea, Bettervolume3, and iMarketsprofile, which are custom. Btw I recommend NT to create the last three indicators for their next release.

      True for daily/prior OHLC and pivots, false for the rest b/c I need real time updates.

      This is why I'm surprised b/c I don't believe I'm doing anything that requires so much CPU.

      Closed workspaces shouldn't effect loading right?
      And can my dataprovider (Zenfire) effect NT stability?

        Hello,

        Closed workspaces will not be running.

        I'm not aware of any data reports this morning from Zen-Fire or any other data providers.

        Please send an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and include your most recent log and trace files, Attn: Matthew in the Subject line and a reference to this thread.

        You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        • The log file will be named ‘log.20111130.txt’

        You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        • The trace file will be named ‘trace.20111130.txt’

        Please attach both of these files to your next response. If these files are over 4MB, please let me know and I can respond with alternative instructions.

          Thanks. First let me see if I can fix the issue on my end by optimizing my comp and internet, and loading less days. I'll let email you know next week if I have problems.
