Walk Forward freezes

Sometimes the WF freezes in the middle of the overall process and I have to force NT closed to get it unlocked.

I'm running WF on a basket of futures. This seems to happen using any Optimizer (Genetic or Default). It also always freezes on the last instrument in the basket.

When I look at TaskManager NT is usually using about 13% of the CPU(s) and memory usage is stable.

I have code in OnTerminate that stores xml in the UserData for the Instrument. Adding this to my strategy seems to be when this freeze started happening, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I am happy to assist you.

Backtesting/Optimization runs multi-threaded, as such it can cause issues when you attempt to access files because more than one strategy is attempting to access a file at the same time. There are a couple solutions to this outlined in the following thread :

Thanks for the link Adam,

I'll take a look. However I'm not accessing a file. Unless adding working with Instrument.MasterInstrument.UserData is actually a file access. I'll see about making a semaphor before doing any write operations to the UserData.
