How to avoid cursor turning into a Hand on Chart

I trade using the Charts (instead of DOM)

I would like to understand why my cursor sometimes turns into a hand.

When it turns into a hand (instead of the cross hair) I cannot trade correctly.

Is it possible to avoid having the hands appear? I am not sure what triggers the hands and I have to go up to change to Cross hairs

This change in cursor type shows that you are editing the price at which an order rests. Clicking again would move the order to another price.

At this time, there is no way to disable this feature short of disabling Chart Trader completely in that chart.

I would certainly appreciate being able to disable this hand.....

It creates confusion at the heat of a trade.

I didn't understand what he was talking about until I tried in SIM.

The hand appears when moving the price up and down, but turns off when you unclick.
If you click and move the chart left/right, the hand appears and turns off when you unclick.

BUT - when editing a contract amount, the hand remains. You can not get the cursor back when you click off and anywhere else in the chart. You have to manually hit CONTROL-R.

There are also other instances, where the hand doesn't appear when editing contract size and the cursor stays. It can only be 'reset' to have the hand appear again when you start moving the price target.

I think his issue is that the hand appears, and it doesn't go away as I mentioned above.

Minor question...

Just curious about this...near as I can tell...it appears that on charts that include a box bar the cursor appears as a hand....while on charts with no box bar the cursor shows as a pointer...is this to be expected perhaps...??

Hello Alfred,

I have tested this on my end and was unable to recreate this within the Box style chart. Are you holding down the left mouse button when this occurs or just moving the mouse within the chart?

Also can you tell me what version of NinjaTrader you have installed which can be found under Help-->About.

Am just moving the cursor from chart to chart....using version 9 on NT7....the hand seems to be on charts that have a normal chart plus a box bar added....

Please open a new chart with no template applied and let me know if the issue persists.

No hand on a new chart (no template) with box bar....when old template loaded hand appears....will redo my templates....
