    Working Market Order

    Hi,

I'm developing an automate strategy and for now I'm testing it on the sim account.
I'm using Market Order with EntryLong/EntryShort.
In the attached print screen of the order tab you can see that I have a Market Order which is 'Working', How can it be? and How can I fix it?

    TX in Advance!

    Hello freewind,

If the order was submitted to the sim101 account please reset the sim101 account.
    • To reset the sim101 account please go to Tools--> Options--> Simulator--> and click Reset

Click here for more information on the Sim101 account

      Thanks Matthew.
But my problem is that it keeps on happening also after I'm resetting the sim account.
I don't get execution on the market order I'm sending.

        Hello,

        Thanks for the clarification.

Is eSignal the only connection technology you are using?

Do you experience this with other strategies such as the SampleMACrossOvers?

Can you please tell me which version of NinjaTrader you are using, NT V7.0.1000.7? You can check this under Help--> About.

          I'm using NT V7.0.1000.7.
I'm using only eSignal for this strategy.
What is the meaning in NT for State 'Working'? Does it mean that the order is waiting to get filled?
I tried now the SampleMACrossOvers and also I'm getting the Working state. In the position tab I don't see anything.
BTW in the Options ->Strategies -> NinjaScript I'm setting to 'Immediately submit live working historical orders'.

            Hello,

Yes, Working means that the order is waiting to get filled.

Can you please disconnect from your data feed and next go to Tools--> Options--> data and select "Reset DB".

After resetting the db, please try placing a manual market order and test to see that the market order fills.

Matthew, does Resetting DB will delete all the configure instruments?
I'm working on European markets and it will take long time to restore all the instruments.

No, Resetting the DB will not remove any custom configured instruments.

To prevent running into situations where you can potentially lose important data, we advise to run regular backups via our inbuild backup feature in NinjaTrader - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/creating_a_backup_archive.htm

                  Thanks Matt.
I think I understood the problem.
I added a new stock instrument for the Dax index.
When I'm running backtest everything is ok and I get filled, but when I'm running my strategy live, maybe because I don't have bid/ask, I don't get filled!
When I tried to trade a stocks I got filled.
Is there a way to solve it for real time?

                    Hello,

if you do not have real-time data, there will be no data to fill from. You might want to try going to Tools--> Options--> Simulator tab--> check 'force immediate fills'

I have real time data(eSignal), but the problem is that my instrument is a virtual stock(it is actually an index but I define it as a stock so it can be traded) but it seems that for real time data is not working.
                      Any suggestions?

                        Hello,

If it is an index, no ask/bid data would be used as there is no ask/bid information reported from your provider.

I'm not aware of any work arounds to trade an index.

But is it possible to trade such an instrument as a stock (if I define it in the instrument manager)?
because from what I see NT is not executing the trades.

Regardless of how you set it up in NinjaTrader, there is not bid/ask data coming from eSignal for NT to execute.

So I can better understand exactly what you're trying to do, can you tell me exactly what symbol you are trading? If this is technically an index, why are you looking to trade it? Do you mean to load the Futures Index which is tradeable?

                              OK, I understand.
Thanks again for the great support!
