Thanks for the info. Are there plans to add other brokers for forex in the near future?

Likely yes but not official statements at this time.

Were there not a couple of other brokers for forex also currently supported besides Gain? Tradestation and possibly eSignal, for example? Is there a reason they cannot be used for forex?

Does anyone one know if other Forex brokers provide Stop Limit order capability, or if the lack of this is a characteristic of all Forex providers?

eSignal and DTNiQ are supported for FX market data but not for brokerage since they are not brokers.

I read in another post that the 6.5 Beta now supports MB and EFX for forex, from what I read it seems they can be used as brokers, correct?

Technically yes however this is not official at this time. We may remove this ability. I can provide no further information on this at this time.

But it may be a price you don't want. I have no idea what the original poster is thinking, but I would (and do) use that order type as part of a breakout strategy. e.g. to use my same example, I'm only interested in going long if the price hits 60. Otherwise I don't want to open a position.

                        Hi,

Just for everybody's information (KBJ posted this question earlier) I've contacted customer support for both MB Trading and EFX (both are supposed to be usable for forex in the 6.5 Beta) and according to each they both do support Stop Limit type orders...

What I wondering is if there may be a way to simulate limit order functionality in NT. For some examples:

When the strategy indicates a trade, save the target buy/sell price to a variable which could be compared against on the next bar update. If the close is higher/lower than that target price variable, enter.

                          Or,

When the strategy indicates a trade, is there a way to prepare an order to be placed at a future time, perhaps cancelling the order(s) if the criteria are not met?

                          Any ideas from NT experts?

PS. Many appreciations for the in-depth discussions on this forum...
