    NinjaTrader 7 crashes on startup

    Hi,

    I have the latest version of NT7 installed (licensed). When I launch it it crashes with a stack-overflow bug in both the 64bit and 32bit versions. I have shut down my PC, tried again, same result.

    I have uninstalled NT7, restarted my PC, deleted the NT7 folder (program files(x86)\NinjaTrader), downloaded and installed the latest version, same result.

    This is the message I get from Windows:

    My PC:
    OS: Windows Vista 64bit with all updates installed
    CPU: Intel Quad 2.4GHz
    RAM: 8GB DDR2
    HD: 320GB with more than 100GB free
    Internet: 10MB ADSL+

    NT7 worked great for more than 40 days, it suddenly broke down.

    Please Help.

    Can you please send me your latest log and trace files. Log and trace files can be found at the following locations. Please attach these files in your email and send it to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread.

    C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20111212 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

    C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20111212 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

        Problem resolved by deleting my workspace XML file located at "C:\Users\....\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\workspaces". Apparently, it became corrupt for some unexplained reason.

        It is recommended to backup your workspace file from time to time (just copy it to a different location on your Hard drive or follow the NT7 help file section that explains how to create an entire backup here). Since I didn't do that, I had to rebuild my workspace from scratch... :|

          NT7 Crash on Start Up

          Hi I have a similar problem. Further checking, the NT7 only crash if start up with Internet connected (logging in to server?). But if I launch NT7 without Internet connected, it doesn't crash.

          I have tried:
          1) Without Internet, start NT7, do Restore to earlier backup using the Utilities-Restore. Then close NT7, reconnect to Internet, launch NT7 again... still crash
          2) Without Internet, start NT7, close the active worksplace, recall another workspace that working well few weeks ago. Close NT7 with Save. Re-launch NT7 with Internet connected.... Still crash.
          3) With NT7 closed, remove the workspace as per below solution, Connect to Internet, start NT7... still crash

          ... Any suggestion?

            Resolved.
            The issue was when ninja try to access datafeed of FXCM that I use.
            Need to manually open the Config file, remove the Connection Option that related to FXCM.
            Relaunch ninja with Internet connected, this time ninja didn't crash. Then Manually add in FXCM connection again under Tools-AccountConnections

            Hope this will be useful for others.
