    IB: Login Failed Message

    Hi,
    I am trying to learn NT platform. I am using IB so I want to connect NT to my IB simulated trading account. Which does have real time data, it only uses paper money.

    I configured the connection settings using the guide on this site. But when I initiate a log-in, I get a box saying:

    "Login Failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it: fe80::e820:1cce:8c5b:e9cf%11:7498"

    What am I doing wrong? Connecting to Kinetic seems to work.

    Hello pker,

    Thanks for the post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums! Most likely you missed a setting within TWS, for enabling Active X connections. Please see this page (step 4) for complete steps on creating this connection.

      No I did not. IP, Port and API access is enabled. I used a another tool as well so I know how to set it up. Before you tell me I need to shut the other tool down. No it was not running and is no longer installed.

          Hi;
          I too am having trouble connecting NT to my IB feed. Everything ran fine on TW 910 but they stopped supporting that build. So I went to the latest TWS build 922 which didn't run NT. Then I found your instructions and followed the link to TW
          917 and that wouldn't open TW at all. Any suggestions?

            Never mind. I went through the steps in the instructions one more time on the TW 917 build information and this time it works. I found the instructions by putting "interactive brokers connection" in the main search box. I must have missed a step the last time I tried. It helps to follow the instructions step by step.
