    chixde (ib symbol) not running?

    hello,

    i would like to plot the stock symbols for the dax like ADS (Adidas) with the exchange chixde. is this possible? or do i have to use ADS-XET?

    So I may attempt to test on my end can you tell what symbol is used within TWS to receive data for the instrument you are interested in.

      hello,

      it´s the chi-x exchange. ib says chixde



      ib symbol ADS. i think chix symol ADSd.

      in ib´s tws smart is batede, chixde, fwb, ibis, mibsx, swb, trqxde.
      but you can also select only one exchange to get a tws chart.

        It appears for IB the symbol would be ADS. To add this instrument please use the steps provided below.
        • Tools
        • Instrument Manager
        • Add
        • Input the information for both the Definitions tab and Misc tab as referenced in the attached screen shots
        • Click Ok
        • Add ADS to your Default instrument list
        • Check the Orders tab to confirm you receive data

          it works. the only problem is, i think i cant download historical data. i think it´s not supported.

          however, many thanks for your help.

            No problem at all, glad to help out.

            Do you receive real time data within your chart? If so please tell me if you are connected to a live account or demo account.

            Also what time interval chart you have open and what occurs if you right mouse click within your chart and select "Reload all historical data".

              hello,

              sorry for the delay. i was a bit bissy.

              it doesn´t matter if i want to reload all the data or if i want to change the timeframe. i get always the message

              "Error on loading chart data for `ADS Default`: IAB: Error in requesting historical data from IB: No security definition has been found for the request (200)

                I have tested this on my end and was able to recieve historical data for ADS with the settings outlined in the attached screen shots.

                Please delete your current ADS instrument within the Instrument Manager and recreate the symbol again then open a new chart.

                Also confirm you receive real time data within TWS for ADS as well.

                  its a real account and i get data for chi-x (free) but not for xetra.

                    i made it new and all i see are the ticks from the ads chart before i made it new.
                    also i cant select to reload all historical data.
                    i also dont understand why to choose nyse for adidas.
                    however, now i dont get any data. no minute, no ticks, no historical.

                        Is the option to "Reload all historical data" greyed out? If so please confirm you have historical data enabled with the steps I have provided below.
                        • Disconnect
                        • Tools
                        • Account Connections
                        • Select your connection
                        • Change
                        • Next
                        • Historical Data-->Enabled "Use Interactive Brokers servers"
                        • Next
                        • Next
                        • Finish
                        • Reconnect
                        • Open a new chart

                        If the issue persist please tell me what version of NInjaTrader you have installed which can be found under Help-->About.

                        Also What version of TWS are you using? You can check under TWS -> Help -> About -> Scroll to the Build #

                          i had it this way. i did it again and again i get the error message. the greyed out reload button depends on i wasnt conected.

                          nothing changed.

                              Please upgrade to NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.8 with the steps I have provided below. With this procedure you will not lose any Workspaces, Charts, etc.
                              • Close all running applications.
                              • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
                              • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
                              • Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
                              • Reboot your machine.
                              • Once these steps are completed, download NT 7.0.1000.8 from the link below:

                              With the current version of NinjaTrader, it is critical that you use TWS version 917.
