license server connection problem...

    license server connection problem...

    upon start-up my computer will not connect to the ninja trader servers. when I try to register the software with the license key under the help>license key, i am asked for a back door key... I read on a different thread that it is probably a firewall problem buy my firewall is set to make an exception for ninja trader, just wondering where to go from here to resolve the issue.

    Thanks for your post.

    As you're aware, this does indicate a firewall issue. Please shut the firewall down completely and test again as it could very well be that the exception is not configured properly.

        Does any other security software like anti-virus software run? If so, please try shutting it down next.

            Hello,

            Are you able to connect this PC to another internet source? This will help you to determine if settings on the PC is running or settings in the network are responsible for the issue.

              kyle, I was able to connect thru a different network with no problems. now, I have no idea where to start to reconfigure my network to enable connection....

                Hello,

                I spoke to my IT manager and he suggested power cycling the router.

                Normally we dont run into issue with that.

                You may have some firewall that is giving issue. Port 80 and 81 would need to be unblocked and access to https://www.ninjatrader.com should work.

                  okay, so i power cycled the router and modem but that didn't solve anything. I must admit ignorance, i have no idea about unblocking ports so i googled for directions. I have no idea if i did the right thing,i think i opened two new ports (80 & 81) but still no luck

                    Hello,

                    Just to make sure its the router if you take the router out and connect directly to the modem with the PC will it work on restart of the PC and NinjaTrader?

                        In that case probably an ISP or modem thing. In either regaurd next step would be contacting your ISP and having them turn off firewalls/unblock these ports.

                          License Verification problem

                          So I'm having the same issue. I've turned off the windows fired wall with no effect. I've even set up permission for inbound port 80 use, still the problem remains. I'm thinking this my be a Windows 10 thing, as I do not have problems before. My version may be out of date also. Your download seems to get stuck for the latest version 8 Beta.

                              Well I downloaded it ‎November ‎08, ‎2015.

                              I can not open the program to see the version number because of the server authentication issue.
