Incomplete Daily Data

Hi guys,

My daily charts are not pulling all the data for daily chats. I have data service through CQG and DTN and they both are incomplete. Please see attached snapshot. I'm sure by now that the problem is not any of the data feeds.

Hi Mike,

Can you expand on what is lacking in the charts? Are you perhaps looking for a 24 hour bar as opposed to the extended trading hours data which a daily bar would consist of?

Yes I'm looking for full 24 hour bars. When compared to FOREX the charts are full without gaps, but with the futures 6B the charts are gapped.

Thanks for getting back to me.

For a full 24 hour bar, you would need to create a 1440 minute chart using the Default 24/7 session template. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change how a daily bar is created - the ETH session would always be used.

The chart selected is a 24/7 template selected from the options. Do I have to edit this template and create a 1440 minute chart? If so what start hours do I use? The reason I ask is because I have a value indicator that shows me where the value area high/lows are. Will changing the template also change the value high/low outputs?

Hi Mike,

You can see the current times for each session template by selecting Tools > Session Manager. The actual hours used to construct your session template are your own preference. Please see here for help working with the session manager to customize your own session template:

Yes, indicators are impacted by the session template selected. Any indicators will be calculated on available bars, the times used to build these bars is set by the session template.

What time does the market close on Friday and what time do they open on Sunday? (Pacific Time)

If you want the typical FOREX trading hours, select the FOREX session template. I've pasted a picture of this so you can see the times defined.
