    Problems with range and constant volume bars

    Hi, I have Ninja Trader 7.0.1000.8 I use Esignal real time data. When viewing many stocks on the ASX the range and constant volume bars go to price areas on the chart that the stock didn't trade at. For example when I view a time based chart for the same stock you can see the stock uptrending from say $3.70 to $4.16 over the period of 14 days. When using range or constant volume bars after about 7 days you may see a spike down to say $3.50. I have verified using other software as well that these stocks have not traded at these levels. To reiterate, the time charts are working fine.

    simoncar, thanks for the post and welcome to our forums - could you please post a screenshot of the behavior you see on your end? Have you rechecked after a reload of historical data accessible via a right click on the chart?

      Hi Bertrand, thanks for the quick reply. Yes I have tried the historical data reload. I will work out how to attach a screenshot and reply again soon.

        Ok, thanks for checking that step - go to 'reply' > 'go advanced' > and then 'manage attachments' to attach us a screen capture of the issue.

            Thanks - what session template are you using on this chart?

            Did you just recently download the R8 build from us, or did you upgrade right at the announcement we sent as it became available - would you remember?

              Session template is just default....."use instrument settings". I downloaded NT only about 2-3 weeks ago and have not performed any updates on it.

                      Bertrand, forgot to mention that I have installed interactive brokers plugin to use as my broker. Would there be any conflict with Ninja Trader trying to use both my Esignal real time data as well as trying to use Interactive Brokers??

                        This is the message I am receiving.......A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not respond after a period of time or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond...

                          Thanks Simon, in this case please forward me the log and trace files from today manually to support at ninjatrader dot com.

                          They are found under the Documents > NinjaTrader > log / trace folders each labelled with a date. If you could send me the ones from today that would be great.

                          For the data, if you connect to eSignal first then all data is taken from eSignal here, and IB would only be used as tradable / execution connection in your setup so you could access your account.
