    Optimization Problems

    I am having problems optimizing systems with NT7. These probles are happening especially when data series are optimized, but also occur in other cases. The problems are:

    1.-) Sometimes the computer is complitelly blocked and I have to restart.

    2.-) In other occasions the optimization period is cutted by NT and present an optimization reduced in time. Eg: If I am optimizing 2001-2009, NT gives me back an optimization for the period 2002-2005.

    What can I do?

    Aikido, for the first issue : do you see any errors being reported in the log tab of NT here? It would help if you could send us those diagnostic files over for review via Help > Mail to Support.

    For the second issue : what bars types are you optimizing? Are you sure historical source data is available for the full period you request?

    You could check via Tools > Historical Data Manager for your symbol.

      I have sent by email the log.

      I am optimizing time frame from 6 to 30 minutes (steps = 2).

      There is historical data available, even though some times quality is not so good. Could be that some days have 2 or 3 fifteen minute bars missing.

      Any case in intraday trading backtest NT closes all positions at the end of the day, therefore I do not think this should be a problem.

        Aikido, thanks - I have already replied to that email with the files - you were using a version from the NT7 betaphase still, so I would suggest you first of all upgrade to our latest R8 release and then recheck your issues.
